LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A 48-year old woman was injured after she was shot on her cheek by a still unidentified gunman who took her over 90,000 cash and other valuables in a holdup incident at Botiwtiw, Ambiong, here, Saturday.
Chief Inspector Benson Macliing, chief of the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, identified the victim as Mae Memeg Nabe, 48, single, self-employed, native and resident of Botiwtiw, Ambiong, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed the victim came from Baguio Center Mall and was about to open their gate when the still unidentified lone gunman who was described to be tall, dark, wearing a white bull cap, wearing a jacket and armed with a still undisclosed firearm suddenly appeared and pointed his gun to her and announced the heist.
Instead of giving her bag, the victim shouted for help that forced the gunman to shoot her on her chick with the bullet exiting on her head and then carted away her bag containing over P90,000 in cash, two mobile phones and still undetermined valuables.
The victim is now confined at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for further observation of her gunshot wound while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation.
Responding police operatives were able to recover a spent shell and a deformed slug of a still undetermined type of firearm that was used by the suspect in the perpetration of the crime.
