LAGAWE, Ifugao – A 16-year old teenager died while her 11-year old cousin was injured when their motorcycle rammed into the rear portion of an unattended truck along the national road at Natuwolan, Cudog, here, recently.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Victor Udde-e Dugninon Jr., 16, and a resident of Piwong, Hingyon, Ifugao while his wounded cousin was named as Mary Dinamling Udde-e, 11 and a resident of O-ong, Hingyon, Ifugao.
Initial police investigation showed that the two teenagers were on board a motorcycle driven by the fatality proceeding towards Piwong, Hingyon town when the said vehicle accidentally rammed into a parked unattended truck on the side of the road that caused the occupants to be thrown off the said vehicle.
Concerned residents and bystanders immediately rushed the victims to a nearby clinic for medical treatment but the motorcycle driver died due to multiple head and body injuries while his cousin was undergoing close medical supervision.
Probers are still ascertaining whether or not the cause of the road crash was due to human error or whatever prevailing circumstance at the time of the said accident.
