BAGUIO CITY – A 26-year old labourer died while his brother was injured after they were stabbed and mauled by their fellow laborer due to an alleged misunderstanding within the vicinity of the Baguio Water District (BWD) which is undergoing construction at Marcoville, here, Friday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Jaymark Ya-on Rosales, 26 years old, single, while his injured brother was named as Joel Ya-on Rosales, 32 years old, married, both stay-in construction workers of the BWD building.
Initial police investigation showed that Joel had an alleged misunderstanding with a fellow construction worker, Wilfredo Gatchalian Duqueza, a resident of San Manuel, Pangasinan, when his younger brother tried to help him.
However, the suspect stabbed Jaymark on his back and subsequently mauled Joel before fleeing from the crime scene.
Concerned laborers who pacified the altercation immediately rushed the victims to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment but Jaymark was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to fatal stab wounds on his back while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation by responding police operatives.
