TUBA, Benguet – A 13-year-old Grade 2 pupil died after he allegedly drowned in a river at Hydro 1, Camp 6 here over the weekend.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Mark Kiad Tenorio, 13, a resident of Magsaysay, Loakan proper, Baguio City and a Grade 2 student of the Camp 6 Elementary School.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and his friends went to swim in the aforesaid river but the former reportedly drowned that caused concern among his friends.
It took some time for his friends to report the matter to concerned authorities that is why when personnel of the Tuba Municipal Police Station arrived in the area, they saw the lifeless body of the victim submerged in the water which was a depth of around 6 feet.
The victim was pronounced dead on the spot by attending physicians and that his body was brought to their residence for him to be given a decent wake prior to his burial.
Probers are still ascertaining on the circumstances that led to the said drowning incident in the said river. By Dexter A. See
