LUNA, Apayao – A total of 131 Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) treasurers in the province underwent Basic Bookkeeping Course facilitated by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Training Online Program on January 27 and 28 at the Borromeo Residence in this municipality
This initiative was in accordance with the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 10742, as amended by RA 11768, also known as the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015. The training aimed to strengthen the financial management skills of SK Treasurers, following the implementing guidelines (IG) for mandatory bookkeeping training as per the RA.
The first day included a face-to-face orientation and guidance on navigating the TESDA Online Training website platform. TESDA Apayao Provincial Director Glenn N. Murphy and his staff led the session to assist participants in the registration process for their accounts.
Participants eagerly anticipated the completion of the training on the second day. Successful participants were granted a certificate of completion for the Basic Bookkeeping Course for SK Treasurers, which also served as proof during their oath-taking and assumption of office.
This collaborative effort was made possible through the partnership of TESDA, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, provincial government of Apayao, the Provincial Youth Development Council and all municipal youth development councils.
