BANGUED, Abra – Two people, including a policeman, were hurt during a commotion that resulted to a stabbing and shooting incident at barangay Ubbog-Lipcan, here, Tuesday night.
Police authorities identified the victims as PO2 Ryan Garcia Calica, 29, married, active member of Philippine National Police and presently assigned at Bangued Municipal Police Station and Resmo Bargas Borreta Sr. of legal age, married, laborer while the suspect was named as Resmo Talaga Borreta Jr. of legal age, married, and a resident of Ubbog-Lipcan Bangued, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the policeman and his companions were on board a motorcycle when upon reaching the place of incident, the suspect suddenly intercepted them and started provoking them.
The policeman and his companions alighted and introduced themselves as law enforcers but the suspect attakced the policeman that resulted to a commotion.
The policeman and his companions then chased the suspect but his father aided him prompting the law enforcer to fire his gun that hit the older one on his abdomen.
The policeman was rushed to the Seares Memorial hospital while the victim’s father was brought to the Abra Provincial Hospital.
The suspect was arrested by responding police operatives and is now detained at the Bangued Municipal Police Station.
