TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Two self-employed persons were injured after they were fired upon by a rice mill labourer whom they met along the way at Laya East, here, recently.
Police authorities identified the injured individuals as Walter Durupan Lagmay, 34, male, married, self-employed and Loreto Granil Pajarillo, 39, male, married, self-employed while the suspect was named as Edwardo Bermas Don, 52, male, married, rice mill labourer and residents of Laya East, Tabuk, City Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed that the victims were about to leave their residence when they met the suspect along the way.
After a few moments, a heated altercation between the victims and the suspect suddenly erupted that prompted the latter to draw the firearm that was tacked on his waist and fired at them several times hitting them on the different parts of their bodies.
The victims were immediately rushed by concerned citizens to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital for medical treatment for their multiple gunshot wounds that they sustained while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives who responded to the crime scene.
Probers are still ascertaining the motive behind the shooting incident that transpired in the city.
