“We are elated concerned government agencies, the provincial government headed by Gov. Melchor D. Diclas, Benguet caretaker congressman and Anti-Crime and Terrorism through Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) Party-list Rep. Eric Go Yap, and the private sector, continue to extend assistance to our heavily impacted constituents because of the implementation of the prevailing community quarantine guidelines. We hope that the kind of gesture that our people continue to get from kind-hearted people inside and outside the municipality will be replicated by others,” Mayor Ayong stressed.
The municipal chief executive claimed his administration will sustain its engagement with different sectors inside and outside the municipality for the continuous provision of assistance for indigent residents in the different barangays whose employment and sources of livelihood had been heavily impacted by the prevailing crisis situation.
Mayor Ayong expressed his gratitude to the government agencies, individuals and groups who continue to extend assistance to the indigent residents of the different barangays in the municipality, saying that their kind gesture will be treasured by the municipal officials and the recipients of the said benefits.
Aside from the AICS from the provincial government, hundreds of residents from the different barangays of the municipality were earlier granted financial assistance from the labor department’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displace Workers (TUPAD) program, and other similar programs from government agencies that allowed them to continue coping with the serious negative impact of the community quarantine to their employment and sources of livelihood.
Ayong urged the recipients of the financial assistance to wisely spend the amount they received to help them hurdle the challenges posed by the prevailing wrath of the global pandemic that has affected the global economy for over four months now since the implementation of the Luzonwide lockdown in March.
