TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Several individuals came forward today to avail of the free COVID-19 swab test after getting exposed to several religious leaders and some members who were reported positive recently.
According to Tabuk City Rural Health Physician Gwendolyn Gabit, around 67 individuals came for the test held at Silao Street in Purok 2, Bulanao Norte.
To control local transmission and to implement contact tracing, the City Inter-agency Task Force has recommended a localized lockdown in said area which is now identified as a ‘critical zone.’

Bulanao Norte Punong Barangay Henry Tubban Jr. is appealing for his constituents to cooperate in the contact tracing.
He also reiterated for everyone to stay safe and abide by the protocols of using face mask, social distancing, avoid crowded places, avoid going out if not needed and avoid large gatherings without observing the allowable number of people in closed areas.
As recalled, members of a religious group were told to stay home for the contact tracing. They were those who had close contact with the pastor who was positive of the disease having joined a religious gathering.
To date, seven from the religious group were confirmed positive of COVID-19 that includes five pastors, a 55-year old woman, and a 7-year-old child.
Said pastor from this city was tested positive in Baguio City. His close contacts include a 53-year-old male religious leader from Barangay Ipil, a 27-year-old male religious leader from Bulanao, Norte, and a 61-year-old male religious leader residing in Bulanao, Norte were among those earlier detected to be positive.
