LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Five persons were arrested by combined police operatives and intelligence agents for alleged illegal gambling while playing card games inside a building at Pico, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Florante Camuyot, officer-in-charge of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the arrested individuals as Edralyn Odasing Cayadi, 41, married, laborer, native of Kapangan, Benguet and a resident in Balacbak, Baguio City; Mauro Calixto Felipe Jr., 29, married, farmer, native and a resident at Km17, Tublay, Benguet; Jon Duyao Subli, 35, married, shoe maker, native and a resident in Banig, Tawang, La Trinidad, Benguet; Wilter Calixto Felipe, 45, married, farmer, native of Itogon, Benguet and resident in Tebteb, Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet; and Alberto Atinyao, 27, single, unemployed, native of Atok, Benguet and a resident at Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Confiscated from the alleged gambling den were Two decks of Heraclio Fournier-Victoria playing cards consisting of 40 pieces each; one deck of bicycle playing cards consisting of 16 pieces; three plastic chair; one wooden table; one color blue table cloth; two Panda ballpen; two leaves of yellow writing pad; and assorted peso bills and coins amounting to P2,796.00.
The arrested individuals and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station for documentation prior to the filing of the charges of violations of the provisions of Presidential Decree (PD) 1602 or the Anti-Gambling Law against them.
