Bontoc, Mountain Province- Fifty-one individuals from the different barangays of Bontoc who are part of the Sinab-ang Organization- Rice Retailing are recipients of the Integrated Livelihood Program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Bontoc Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., Congressman Maximo Dalog, Jr., and representatives from the DOLE turned over equipment and materials to the recipients on June 8, 2023, at the Bontoc Municipal Capitol.
The items that were provided are 365 sacks of rice, plastic bags, weighing scales, push carts, tables, and monoblock chairs.
This was realized with the collaborative efforts of the DOLE, Bontoc Local Government Unit (LGU), and the Office of Congressman Dalog.
Mayor Tudlong extended his gratitude to the DOLE and Congressman Dalog for the continuing assistance and support that the municipality received.
“I encourage you to nurture what you have received from the government and make sure that your livelihood projects become sustainable and lasting,” Tudlong added.
Likewise, he assured that the Bontoc LGU will continue to collaborate with various agencies for the provision of programs and projects that will benefit the community.
This is part of the present administration’s roadmap which he labeled “𝑬𝑵𝑳𝑨𝑵𝑮𝑨𝑲𝑯𝑨: 𝑨𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑽𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒂 𝑫𝒚𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒄 𝑩𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒐𝒄”. One of its pillars is Empowering Communities.
In response, a recipient thanked the concerned agencies for the assistance she received and added it would be a source of income to provide for her family’s basic needs.
