TABUK CITY, Kalinga – More or less 500 individuals from the province are expected to receive their Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).
This is the statement released by Judith Longid of DAR-Kalinga during the second quarter press forum organized by the City Public Information Office today.
Longid said that the beneficiaries were identified by the DAR Kalinga and municipal agrarian reform offices, and have met certain qualifications like being a landless farmer, 15 years old and above, and a resident of the community.
“Being a CLOA recipient, there is a security of tenure because the person now owns the land provided by the government,” she emphasized.
Along with the land ownership title, the DAR-assisted organization or association where the individual recipient is part of shall also receive support services in the form of farm machineries and equipment like tractor, rotovator, harvester, farm implements and a Suzuki vehicle from DAR.
The awarding of CLOA will be done on June 21 during the Agrarian Reform Summit as one of the activities of this year’s Matagoan Festival. DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III was invited to grace the awarding ceremony.
