SAN JUAN, Abra May 21 – A 52-year old woman was injured after her live in partner lost control of their motorcycle when they were fired upon by still unidentified gunmen while travelling along the road at barangay Supiil, here, Thursday.
Police authorities identified the injured individual as Leonora Caparas, alias Nory, 52, and resident of Barangay Supiil, San Juan, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim, together with her live in partner, were on board a motorcycle proceeding towards the north when upon reaching the place of incident, they were allegedly fired upon by still unidentified gun-wielding individuals.
Her live-in partner allegedly tried to accelerate the motorcycle but he eventually lost control of the same that caused them to fall on the ground with the victim sustaining multiple injuries on the different parts of her body.
The victim was rushed to the Dolores Medicare Center but was subsequently transferred to the Abra Provincial Hospital for further medical treatment of the injuries he sustained.
The victim’s live in partner narrated to probers that they were not the actual target of the shooting incident because a few seconds before the incident, they already heard gunshots emanating from the east of the road and subsequently met several individuals on board separate motorcycles that sped towards the opposite direction.
