IDIGAN, Abra – a 55—year old barangay kagawad died after he was gunned down by one of two gun-wielding individuals who posed as a buyer inside his sotre at barangay Garreta here recently.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as 00 PM, a shooting incident transpired in Brgy., Garreta, Pidigan, Abra. The victim was identified as Moises Sacuray Duran, 55, married, Barangay Kagawad, and a resident of barangay Garreta, Pidigan, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was the one watching over their store when one of the gun-wielding suspects arrived and pretended to buy something in his store while his companion waited for him on board a motorcycle outside the store.
As soon as the suspect was about to get what the suspect was about to buy, he suddenly peppered him with bullets from his firearm before going out of the store and boarding the Bangued-bound get away motorcycle.
The victim was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but he was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple gunshot wound on the different parts of his body.
Responding police operatives recovered from the crime scene five empty shells of a caliber .45 pistol which was used by the suspect in the perpetration of the crime.
The suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation to ascertain the motive of the victim’s murder.
