Integration of technology into the learning process brings new opportunities for interaction and engagement. ICT can facilitate student learning, it offers the ability to provide instruction at any phase, in any place and, at any pace, thus generating an extremely flexible learning environment whether through providing more interaction with the content or more interaction with other people.
DepEd Computerization Program (DCP) provides public schools with appropriate information and communication technologies (ICT) that would improve the teaching and learning process. It is among DepEd’s efforts to raise the ICT literacy to learners, teachers, and school heads by integrating ICT in the school system by providing laboratory packages to secondary schools and electronic classrooms to elementary schools.
Benguet NHS received a total of 77 laptops, 2 smart TVs, a printer and other accessories to be used for teaching-learning processes. Under the DCP 2019-2, the school received fifty-one (51) Lenovo Thinkpad E495 Laptops, one router, one Smart TV, and one Epson 3150 printer. Also, the DepED-CO thru Girlteki Inc. in a joint venture with Multifocus Corporation delivered twenty-six (26) Coby NBPC1958 laptops, one smart TV and one lapel speaker to be used by the TVL-ICT specifically Technical Drafting students.
The Benguet NHS through the leadership of the school principal, Nestor O. Dalay-on with the ICT teachers received the various equipment and expressed their gratitude for the efforts of the DepED higher offices in providing the needed equipment to enhance the teaching-learning processes and prepare the learners to be equipped with 21st-century skills and be globally competitive.
