Lagawe, Ifugao – Five persons were hurt after a Mountain Province-bound motorcycle collided with a tricycle that came from the opposite direction at Pangi, Natuwolan, Cudog here recently.
Superintendent Cherry Fajardo, public information officer of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera, identified the injured individuals as Juliet Macario Martin, 26; Edson Macario Martin, 4, both backriders of the Honda motorcycle, and Rachel Buy-ag Umlano, 16; Emilia Buy-ag Umlano, 49; Immaya Bummad Pahgod, 75, all passengers of the Euro tricycle sustained injuries. Both drivers were unharmed during the incident.
Initial police investigation showed that the motorcycle driven by Eduardo Anhibey Martin, 37, married, a resident of Ahin, Tinoc, Ifugao, was proceeding towards Mountain Province when it negotiated a sharp curve along the road causing it to encroach into the opposite lane that resulted to its collision with a tricycle driven by Torres Jemar Bunoy, 19, single, a resident of Boliwong, Lagawe, Ifugao.
Both drivers were unharmed during the incident and were subsequently brought to the Lagawe Municipal Police Station for investigation on who will be responsible for such untoward accident that resulted to multiple physical injuries.
The injured occupants of both vehicles were immediately rushed to the different hospitals in the municipality for medical treatment.
