LUNA, Apayao – The municipalities of Santa Marcela, Luna, Pudtol, along with the provincial government have been awarded the 2023 SubayBAYANI Award.
The award reflects their invaluable commitment to promoting transparency and accountability.
Apayao is the only provincial government in the Cordillera area to achieve such honor, and it is one of only nine finalists countrywide.
The recipients were also recognized for their outstanding monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems, which ensured that the local projects were successfully implemented. A certificate of distinction was personally given to Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr., as well as the municipal mayors of Luna, Pudtol, and Santa Marcela, as advocates of transparency and accountability.
Governor Bulut Jr. lauded the workers of the province and the local governments for their contributions and sacrifices to deliver quality work and service to the people.
“Daytoy ti mangipakita iti dedikasyon ken commitment ti leaders tayo kasta met kadagiti trabahador ti gobyerno para iti pagsayaatan ti Apayao. We ought to support these development projects and work together for more progress to come,” the governor said in an interview.
The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) conferred the award to the three municipal governments and the province as national finalists and top overall performer during the SubayBAYANI Awarding ceremony on November 16 at the Sequoia Hotel in Paranaque City.
The SubayBAYANI is the online monitoring system of the DILG that provides real-time information on the physical and financial state of locally-funded projects as well as their actual location, implementation, and other fundamental data.
The agency said the awards were given to recognize selected municipal and provincial governments for their efficient and significant performance in the implementation and management of local projects through the SubayBAYANI portal, and as a way to honor their unwavering and steadfast dedication in delivering a Matino, Mahusay, at Maaasahang Serbisyo.
