LUNA, Apayao – The Province of Apayao will operate with a budget of PHP 1,560,151,270.13 for the year 2024.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan, in its session on December 20, 2023, approved this year’s spending measure, subsequently signed by Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr. on the same date.
The breakdown of the budget reveals that PHP 1,498,279,270.24 is allocated for the General Fund, while PHP 61,871,999.89 is designated for the operation of Local Economic Enterprise (LEEs). LEEs include Apayao Central Pharmacy (ACP), Apayao Expanded Credit and Agri-business Facility (AECB), and Apayao Training Center (ATC).
The Provincial Expenditure Program outlines the allocation of resources, emphasizing key projects and activities aimed at advancing and uplifting good governance within the Provincial Government of Apayao (PGA).
Priorities include the creation of new positions, advancement, and restructuring of District Hospitals, additional personnel for the Provincial Internal Audit Services (PIAS), localized and adopted programs and projects from National Government Agencies (NGAs) operating under economic and social sector implementing offices, e-governance initiatives, and financial assistance through Project ASENG (Apayao Socio-Economic Efforts Necessary for Growth).
According to the Annual Investment Plan (AIP) for Fiscal Year 2024, economic services receive the largest share of the budget with PHP 541.3 million. This is followed by social services with PHP 511.2 million, general services with PHP 478.1 million, and environmental services with PHP 31.4 million.
Following Provincial Development Council (PDC) Resolution No. 11 S. 2023, the formulation and approval of the AIP establish priorities for efficiently implementing and financing the province’s development plans, programs, projects, and activities.
