LUNA, Apayao – Marcelo C. Saleo-an Jr., Apayao’s concurrent focal person of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating disadvantaged/displaced workers (TUPAD), has been recognized as Best Performing Implementer during the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 2023 Kabuhayan Awarding ceremony held at Sequoia Hotel Manila Bay, Paranaque City on November 14.
The award is intended to reward meritorious TUPAD program focal persons working in provincial field offices for their outstanding achievement in program execution in 2022.
According to the DOLE, identification of qualifying regional awardees is based on timely filing of physical and financial accomplishment reports, initiating practices and innovations, and in attaining a minimal number of audit observations.
Saleo-An said he had successfully provided documentation for all activities, orientation, implementation, and pay out, as well as monitoring documents in the fullest sense.
He also mentioned that the initiative has assisted 6,881 families in the province since 2022, with Kabugao having the most beneficiaries (1,794), Conner having 1,599, Calanasan having 1,055, Luna having 741, Pudtol having 717, Flora having 500, and Santa Marcela having 475.
“Pero hindi rin po yan magkakapundo without the support of the offices of the Congresswoman Eleanor Bulut-Begtang and Provincial Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr, sa funding,” he said.
Meanwhile, Saleo-An credited the honor to his colleague for their joint efforts in administering the agency’s aided livelihood projects, notably the TUPAD program. By J. Dela Torre
