BONTOC, Mountain Province – In a proactive move to enhance emergency readiness, the municipal government handed over first-aid kits to its offices on October 10, 2023.
The purchase of the first-aid kits was sourced from the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (LDRRM) Fund.
Bontoc Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., together with Sangguniang Bayan member Jupiter Jule Kalangeg, led the turnover of the first aid kits to various offices.
The provision of first aid kits to every municipal office underscored the municipal government’s commitment to community safety. The first aid kit, containing essential medical supplies, will aid in quick response to accidents and medical incidents within the municipal government premises. The kit, now easily accessible to municipal government personnel, includes bandages, antiseptics, gloves, medications, and emergency equipment.
Mayor Tudlong mentioned that DRRM programs are one of the priorities of the present administration fostering a resilient community ready for any challenge.
He added that the LDRRM Fund is a testament to prudent fiscal management, and has supported various disaster preparedness projects.
Meanwhile, training sessions will ensure employees can effectively use the kit. By Nicole Shayne Fidchao
