MANABO, Abra – A boy died after he allegedly drowned while playing with some friends in a river at Malidom, Barangay Catacdegan, here, Sunday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as a 3-year old resident of Sallapadan, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed that the victtim’s family and some of their relatives went to have a picnic under the famous Mallidum bridge in the place of incident.
After several hours, she noticed that her son who was playing with some children in the river bank was missing that prompted her to seek help from the people in the area to locate the whereabouts of the youngsters.
The victim’s cadaver was seen floating in a portion of the river at barangay Patoc, Bucay town where a fisherman pinpointed to the search and rescue volunteers the area where he was seen floating.
The victim’s cadaver was brought home by his relatives for him to be given a decant wake and burial in their place.
