STA. MARIA, Ilocos sur March 24 – A 38-year old bus inspector was injured after he was stabbed by a 54-year old bus conductor in front of the Ilocos sur Polytechnic State College at Poblacion, here, Wednesday night.
Police authorities identified the wounded individual as Romulo Pardian Gabriel, 38, married, Fariñas Bus Inspector, a resident of barangay 26, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte while the suspect was named as Arnel Yasay Manalili, 54, married, Fariñas Bus conductor, a resident of Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte.
Initial police investigation showed that for still unknown reasons, the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim several times on the different parts of his body before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction carrying with him the weapon used and his collection amounting to more or less P28,000.
The victim was immediately rushed by his companions to a nearby hospital where he was confined while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation by responding elements of the Sta. Maria Municipal Police Station.
