As a means of expressing gratitude for the positive influences of teachers on Cordillera learners, the Department of Education-Cordillera will honor its teachers thru Regional Teachers Month program at the regional office, Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet on October 2.
In a regional memorandum released on August 20, Regional Director May B. Eclar emphasized that the celebration shall focus on acknowledging and giving emphasis on the crucial roles, loyal service, and dedication of teachers in nurturing globally-minded citizens.
“It aims to revitalize the image of and respect for teaching as a vocation by increasing public awareness on the value of teachers in the Cordillera, to build the image of teaching as an attractive and fulfilling profession, and to generate widespread support and assistance for teachers,” Eclar further noted.
Meanwhile several activities were identified like cultural presentations, Teachers Got Talent, and raffle draw.
Annalyn M. Sevilla, undersecretary for finance-budget and performance monitoring of DepEd, will be the keynote speaker in the said festival.
“Gurong Pilipino: Turo Mo, Kinabukasan Ko,” will be the theme of the activity.
“It is a good news that the DepEd-Regional Office is initiating a program solely for honoring teachers,” said Claire Eddio, a teacher at Eastern La Trinidad National High School.
