City officials recently requested the City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO) to conduct an investigation and submit the result to the local legislative body, including its recommendations, addressing the concerns of Ms. Adela Niwani and the East Modernsite barangay council regarding the project under Ordinance No. 09, series of 2023.
Under Resolution No. 104, series of 2024, local legislators stated that the concerns and issues on the barangay project as raised by the affected residents in East Modernsite barangay was discussed and deliberated by the body but it needs additional information from concerned offices for proper guidance and appropriate action in the future.
On January 23, 2023, the city council approved Ordinance No. 09, series of 2023 realigning the amount of P500,000 from the project, re-routing of sewer line at No. 39 Bugallon St., near the residence of Ms. Raquel Cruz under the 2018 annual investment plan to improvement and rehabilitation of old sewer line from Purok 1 Ledesma St., near the residences of Realina, Tabora and Velasco families going down to E. Navarro alley, Purok 5, Interior Ledesma St., near the residences of Santos, Rusagal, Quiano, Valmores, Niwani, Bainto, Ramos and Frigillana families at East Modernsite barangay.
In his letter dated January 17, 2024, East Mondernsite punong barangay Peter G. Busacan requested to utilize the savings from the said project amounting to P497,202.10 under the 2023 local development funds for the additional work to connect the sewer line of the barangay hall to E. Navarro Alley, Purok 5.
Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to the concerned offices of the local government for their information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See
