City officials recently declared March 18-22, 2024 as Saint Louis University (SLU) Alumni Homecoming Week in the city.
Under Resolution No. 074, series of 2024, local legislators stated that the said joyous event brings together alumni from various parts of the world to celebrate years of bountiful blessings, rekindle relationships with persons who have touched their lives during their university days and share their blessings with others.
SLU will be having a homecoming for its more than 5,000 alumni expected to attend the said event set on March 22, 2024 in the city.
The council noted that the SLU alumni homecoming is an avenue for faculty members and administration to maintain a strong connection with their former students, build a sense of community, and showcase the growth and achievements of the institution over the years.
The council also approved the suspension of Ordinance No. 1, series of 2003 or the Baguio City Number Coding Scheme as amended during the said week only for the attendees of the alumni homecoming.
SLU is a Catholic-run higher education institution based in the city and is one of the most prestigious tertiary education institutions operating in the country through the years.
Earlier, the SLU alumni affairs and the administration lined up a number of activities to allow the participating alumni to celebrate the joyous occasion with their colleagues for them to be able to reminisce the memories of their stay with the institution while pursuing their college education.
Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to the concerned offices of the local government, the SLU administration and alumni for their information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See
