TABUK CITY, Kalinga – At least 221 Barangay Health Workers from RHU II and III received their second quarter honorarium on August 24, 2022, at the City Hall.
Accredited barangay health workers (BHWs) are entitled to P4,500 stipend while registered BHWs received P1,500.
City Mayor Darwin C. Estrañero assured BHWs not to worry about the decreasing National Tax Allotment of the city as their stipends will not be affected by virtue of a resolution authored by Atty. Ivan Yannick Bagayao and approved by the City Council which made it a statutory obligation of the city government to them.
“Dayta ti panagyaman mi ti serbisyo yu panggep ti salun-at ti siyudad tayo.,” the mayor stated. The resolution provided for a 3-year increase of the BHW pay-out which will amount to P3,500.00 added to their regular monthly stipends.
Jandel Taguiam, person in charge of vaccination, encouraged unvaccinated BHWs to get inoculated before the implementation of restrictions on unvaccinated health workers in the province.
“Nu sika mismo ket BHW ken awan bakunam, kasanu ngay nga makaawis ka ti agpabakuna, Taguiam stated.
The City Health Services Office also offered vaccination during the pay-out with around 20 BHWs availing of the Pfizer booster for first and second doses.
