LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A 31-year old construction worker died after he was bumped by an elf truck while maneuvering in front of a store at Balite, Longlong, Puguis, here, Friday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Freddie Buya Mapili, 31, married, construction worker/helper, native of Timuk, Sagubo, Kapangan, Benguet and residing at MD161 LongLong, Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet while the suspect was named as Henry Codiamat Longalong Jr, 28, single, driver, and a resident of Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and the suspect were having a drinking session in one of the stores in the place of incident when they decided to look for more liquor from other stores.
The suspect allegedly started his truck then started maneuvering the vehicle and accidentally hit the victim causing him to be thrown off the concrete pavement.
The victim was rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to alleged multiple head and body injuries.
