KAPANGAN, Benguet– A 15-year old deaf mute miner died after he was stabbed and thrown outside their shanty by the suspect who voluntarily surrendered to the police at Bakiwag, Paykek, Thursday night.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Christian Dave Bacdayan Pinas, 15, single, deaf and mute, native and a resident of Paykek, Kapangan, Benguet while the suspect was named as Jesus Calbin Gulian, 51, single, farmer, a native and a resident of Cayapes, Kapangan, Benguet.
Witnesses informed probers that they were drinking liquor outside a shanty in the place of incident when the suspect allegedly threw the victim outside the shanty causing him to be sprawled bloodied on the ground.
The witnesses then saw the suspect coming out of the shanty and saw him in possession of a bloodied knife that forced them to arrest him and confiscated the bladed weapon.
Upon checking the victim, they reportedly saw that he sustained a lone stab wound on his chest that prompted them to rush him to the Kapangan District Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians.
The case is still subject to further investigation by the elements of the Kapangan Municipal Police Station to ascertain the liability of the suspect.
