LAGAWE, Ifugao – A 36-year old man was arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents after having found in his possession suspected illegal drugs and ammunitions during the service of a search warrant in his residence at Poblacion North, here, Friday.
Senior Superintendent Constancio Chinayog, Jr., officer-in-charge of the Ifugao Provincial Police Office, identified the arrested suspected drug courier as Rodel D. Lunag alias Roy, 36, single and a resident of Poblacion North, Lagawe, Ifugao.
Confiscated from his possession during the implementation of the search warrant issued by Judge Romeo U. Habiling of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 14 in Lagawe were one Semi-transparent plastic sachet containing dried leaves of suspected Marijuana; Two transparent small plastic sachets containing white crystalline substances suspected to be Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (shabu); Two aluminum foils of about 6 inches to 10 inches long; and one live ammunition of M16 Rifle.
The arrested individual and the confiscated pieces of evidence were subsequently brought to the Lagawe Municipal Police Station for documentation prior to the filing of charges of violation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law and RA 10591 or the New Firearms Control Law against him.
