LACUB, Abra – A 24-year old farmer was injured after he was shot by a 21-year old driver for still unknown reasons at sitio Waged, Buneg, here, Monday.
Police authorities identified the victim as Rolando Kawing Manangbao, 24, married, farmer and a resident of So. Waged, Barangay Buneg, Lacub, Abra while the suspect was named as Ramil Viste Trongco, 21, single, driver and a resident of Poblacion, Lacub, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim visited a sick person in the area when he was allegedly fired upon by the suspect for still unknown reasons while he and his companion were about to go home.
The victim was given immediate medical treatment on the lone gunshot wound that he sustained on his left arm while the suspect was immediately arrested by responding police operatives wherein the weapon used was also recovered from his possession.
Probers are still ascertaining the motive behind the said incident that transpired within the vicinity of the residence of a local official.
