LACUB, Abra July 10 – A 23-year old jobless man was injured after he was stabbed on his abdomen by his drinking partner inside the residence of a local official at Poblacion, here, Friday.
Police authorities identified the victim as Jansar Caligui Patayan, 23 years old, single, unemployed, and a resident of Sitio Talipugo, Barangay Buneg, Lacub, Abra while the suspect was named as Gilbert Bunggay Benito, 23 years old, single, farmer, and a resident of Barangay Belaat, Tineg, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect were having a drinking session inside the residence of a local official when a heated altercation suddenly erupted between them that resulted into a commotion whereby the suspect stabbed the victim once on his abdonmen using a kitchen knife.
The victim was able to rush himself to the rural health unit in the town but he was transferred to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment while the suspect was arrested and the weapon used was confiscated by the responding police operatives.
