TABUK CITY, Kalinga March 27 – A laborer died after he allegedly committed suicide by inflicting injures on his neck, forehead and nape using a sharp bolo inside their residence at Purok 5, Cabaruan, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Brent Majaco, provincial director of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, identified the alleged suicide victim as Edgar Gapuz Tagubader, 43, single, laborer and a resident of Purok 5, Cabaruan, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was left alone in their house by her sister and her liv-in partner after he allegedly threatened the latter that he will cut his head through hand signals.
When one of his relatives went to their house a few hours after the incident, he was surprised to found the victim sprawled bloodied on the floor of their house with a sharp bolo on his right side.
Probers were also informed that the victim attempted to commit suicide several times over the past several years through various means but he was not able to succeed until the latest attempt where he succeeded in taking his own life.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple wounds on his neck, nape and forehead.
