BAGUIO CITY – A man died after he was struck with a bottle by his drinking partner along Shanum Street, here, Saturday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as a certain Romy while the suspect was named as Garnet Rosette Rufino.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and the suspect had a drinking session when a heated altercation between the two persons suddenly erupted.
At this juncture, the suspect allegedly grabbed a gin bottle and started to hit the head of the victim several times.
Responding police operatives were able to arrest the suspect while the victim was pronounced dead in arrival by attending physicians at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center.
The suspect is now detained at the Baguio City Jail awaiting the filing of the appropriate homicide case against him before the city prosecutor’s office.
