BONTOC, Mountain Province – A service rendering activity entitled, “Lingkod Bayan, at Your Service” is being conducted today at the Provincial Plaza.
Civil Service Commission (CSC)–Mountain Province (MP) Field Office Provincial Director Anita Verina T. Paredes, explained that the said undertaking is being held in celebration of the 123rd Philippine Civil Service (CS) Month Anniversary.
“This Lingkod Bayan, at Your Service is an activity wherein our lingkod bayani in MP are able to share their talents and share their gifts as we continue to serve the people of the province,” Paredes said.
In addition, Paredes said that the services offered during the activity are rendered by personnel from the various offices of the Provincial government and national line agencies in MP, in partnership with private service providers.
This year’s 123rd Philippine CS Month Anniversary comes with a theme, “Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant Heroes.”
Relative to this, Paredes explained that the theme can be achieved by embracing dynamism. According to her, being dynamic entails embracing the abrupt changes happening around.
“When we say dynamic, it means that you embrace the abrupt changes coming anytime. Of course, with these advancements in technology and with what is happening, we have to be resilient as they always say and be dynamic.
We have to embrace change and we have to act immediately as much as possible,” she said.
Meanwhile, a thanksgiving mass was conducted prior to the Lingkod Bayan, at Your Service. The mass was officiated by Reverend Fathers Antonio “Bar” Fangkingan, Jr. and Michael Toyoken. In his homily, Rev. Fr. Fangkingan enunciated on the recognition of the efforts of the “silent workers” who he said are often being disregarded.
“We fail to recognize the simple workers or silent workers in our life because we have a certain level of looking at each other; we have a certain level of recognizing each other; and we have a certain level of acknowledging each other. Isu kuma dayta ti gradually nga ikaten tayo ti kapanunutan tayu because otherwise, we continue to fail to recognize Christ in them,” he said.
“Today we are celebrating CS Month, we have to train our mindset as well to be able to recognize these servants whom we are trying to hone.
If God is really in our heart, then our conscience is clear. If God resides in our minds, then we will learn and know how to sacrifice. Kasta ti makuna nga service. Remember service is the rent we pay for the privilege of living on this planet,” he added. By MP PIO
