MANKAYAN, Benguet – A mucker of the Lepanto Consolidated Mining Corporation died after he allegedly bumped a parked motor vehicle while driving his motorcycle along the Abatan-Mankayan-Cervantes road, particularly at Ambabag, Guinaoang, here, Sunday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Rustom Romel B. Dagadag, legal age, married, native of Locog, Tabuk, Kalingga and presently residing at Sadangga Village, Marivic, Sapid, Mankayan, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim was driving his motorcycle en route to Mankayan town proper and was negotiating a sharp curve along the descending portion of the road when his motorcycle bumped a parked motor vehicle on the right side of the road that caused his head to ram into the rear windshield of the said vehicle.
The victim was rushed to the Northern Benguet District Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival due to alleged fractured skull.
Relatives of the victim brought his remains to their residence for him to be given a decent wake and burial.
