TUBA, Benguet – A 30-year old student was injured after he was allegedly hacked by a farmer during a drinking session at Camp 2, Twin Peaks, here, Wednesday night.
Police authorities identified the victim as Melanio Ba-oy Alaoas, 30, single, while the suspect was named as Jerry Depayso Tulli, 45, farmer and both residents of Camp 2, Twin Peaks, Tuba, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and his companions were having a drinking session in their place when the suspect, who was allegedly under the influence of liquor, arrived and joined the group.
The victim alleged prohibited the suspect from drinking because of his unruly condition that irked the latter who left the said place.
After a few moments, the suspect came back and from behind, he hacked the victim on the back of his head hitting him on the lower part of his right ear and the upper part of his left ear.
The victim’s companions were able to subdue the suspect and were able to confiscated the weapon used in the incident and turned him over to the barangay officials who subsequently turned him over to the responding police operatives.
The victim was rushed by his relatives to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment where he is now in stable condition.
