Tabuk City, Kalinga – A 16-year old student died from being hit by a still unidentified vehicle in Tabuk City at dawn of February 21, 2018.
The incident happened along the National road, Purok 7, Bakras, Bulanao, Tabuk City wherein victim was identified as Jehzer Vann K. Pugongan, 16, student and a resident of Magsaysay, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
According to a Spot Report from the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, follow-up investigation showed that the victim was found sprawled at the center of the road causing his instantaneous death.
Interviews with the victim’s girlfriend identified as Anisalie Lingbawan revealed that she exchanged text messages with the victim when he arrived in front of her residence between 12:00 AM and 1:41 AM on said date when she heard a loud bang outside her residence which she ignored.
Later, at around 4:20AM, a certain Elmer Maranag Navarro discovered the victim’s body when his truck illuminated the victim, afterwhich, personnel of the Kalinga Crime Laboratory Office (SOCO KCLO) went to processed the scene.
Further investigation is still ongoing for possible identification of the involved vehicle.
