TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The city government has qualified as one of the finalists for the 2023 SubayBAYANI Awards for Local Chief Executives, by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). The awarding is scheduled to take place in Manila on November 16, 2023.
The SubayBAYANI Award is given to local governments in recognition of their outstanding and continuous work in the overall implementation and oversight of LGU infrastructure projects and locally funded projects that are registered on the SubayBAYAN website.
As a partner in promoting sustainable local development, the DILG acknowledges local governments for their support of M&E systems and fights to maintain accountability and transparency in the administration and execution of local projects.
The city government is one of the local government units in the nation that completed the 2022 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit and will be awarded the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance, according to DILG Tabuk City spokesperson Helen Lacuesta.
Additionally, the city government was acknowledged under the High Functional Anti-Drug Abuse Council for 2022 and one of the Functional Peace and Order Councils for 2022.
According to Lacuesta, these awards are still in place as a result of the coordinated efforts of the city government’s offices and line agencies.
“Let us continue to support each program and collaborate with each other for a better Tabuk,” Lacuesta stressed.
Acting Mayor Dick Bal-o commended the collaboration between the city government family and partner agencies, led by Mayor Darwin Estrañero, in executing the government’s initiatives.
