BAGUIO CITY – A 19-year old teenager was arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents after having found in his possession dried marijuana leaves and assorted illegal drug paraphernalia during a mobile patrol operation along Kalaw St, here, Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Superintendent George D. Daskeo, acting city director of the Baguio City Police Office, identified the arrested suspect as Andrew Chadwick Muros Escorpizo, 19, single, student, and a resident of Hamada, Naguilian Road, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed that while personnel of BCPO Station No. 5 were conducting mobile patrol operation in the place of incident, they were able to chance upon the suspect vandalizing a steel telephone booth within the premises of the Court of Appeals (CA) that prompted them to confront him.
When the suspect was frisked, police operatives were able to found in his possession two sticks of alleged dried marijuana leaves, a transparent sachet containing suspected dried marijuana leaves, among other illegal drug paraphernalia.
The suspect and the confiscated pieces of evidence were immediately brought to the BCPO headquarters for documentation prior to the filing of violation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Law before the city prosecutor’s office against him.
