The Baguio Flower Festival Foundation, Inc. (BFFFI) recently announced the winners of the grand street dance and grand float parades that were conducted last February 24-25, 2024 right at the heart of the city.
Lucban Elementary School drum and lyre contingent bested five other competitors and emerged as the grand champion in this year’s elementary category followed by Tuba Central School and Manuel Roxas Elementary School in third place.
Apolinario Mabini Elementary School, Baguio Central School and Jose Laurel Elementary School settled for the consolation prizes in the said category.
On the other hand, Tribu Rizal of Rizal, Kalinga bested six others and emerged as this year’s grand champion in the festival dance category followed by Narvacan Naisangsangayan of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur and the Baguio City National High School – Special Performing Arts that settled for third place.
The Bituloc street dancers of Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija; Bani Pakwan festival of Bani, Pangasinan; Tribu San Carlos Kinayasan street dancers of San Carlos, Pangasinan and the Tribu Palayano of Palayan City, Nueva Ecija settled for the consolidation prizes which will be awarded during the closing ceremony on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at the Melvin Jones football field.
In the grand floral parade, the float of the Pangasinan Solid North Transit was declared the overall winner in the large float category followed by the float of Jollibee Foods Corporation and the float of the State-owned Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) that settled for third.
The float of comebacking Chowking regained the limelight in the competition when it emerged as the grand champion in the medium float category followed by the float of Procter and Gamble Youthopia and the float of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KF) that landed in third.
Both entries of Zaparitas Garden in the small float category bagged first and second places. By Dexter A. See
