LUNA, Apayao – Carmelita Passion and Argie Aguanta Ganaden, both Agta from Flora municipality who pursued a course on Bachelor of Elementary Education, have exemplified the power of perseverance as they are now licensed professional teachers (LPTs).
In a pronouncement made by the Philippine Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) on Thursday December 7, 23,782 elementary teachers out of 50,593 examinees or equivalent to 47.01%, successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers.
Driven by their intense passion to become beacons of change and empowerment in their communities, Passion and Ganaden worked hard to pass the board examination.
In an interview, both stated that their lives were not without hurdles or obstacles, and there were times when it was as if they were unable to overcome the sense of hopelessness, but that this did not deter their eagerness for a better life.
Recognizing the significance of the achievement, their families, mentors, supporters, and spiritual counselors have voiced their congratulations.
Apayao Schools Division Superintendent Irene Angway, who was an essential means in Ganaden and Passion’s examination preparation by organizing review sessions, has cheerfully conveyed her message.
“I congratulate them both for passing the LET. I am looking forward to seeing them join the education force of Apayao,” Angway said.
Prior to the board exam, Ganaden, also an Alternative Learning System (ALS) graduate, stressed the significance of remaining hopeful in the face of adversity.
“It is essential for our tribe not to lose sight of our potential to strive in life, regardless of the challenges we face. Whether it’s the lack of resources or difficulties in access to education, we must remain persistent, let us not be discouraged, let us embrace our dreams and work diligently to turn them into reality,” he expressed.
Meanwhile, Passion and Ganaden attributed their success to their families, who have been a continual source of support and inspiration for them, as well as to their alma mater, Apayao State College, and the provincial government.
“Agyamanak launay ti tulong ti province lalo iti financial nga isu inusar ko iti panagreviewk,” Ganaden conveyed. By Jomela Dela Torre
