LA TRINIDAD, Benguet May 03 – Six individuals were arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents after allegedly being caught red handed conducting alleged pot session at Barangay Bahong, here Sunday morning.
Police Maj. Cleff Vencio, chief of the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, identified the alleged drug suspects as Jonathan Gabriel Nabe, 30, farmer and a native of Barangay Bahong; Norson Palasi Cabigat, 42, farmer and native of Barangay Bahong; Perkins Galuba Bentrez, 27, farmer and a native of Barangay Alapang; Johnson Visaya Lucas, 35, farmer and a resident of Bahong; Randy Palasi Cabigat, 36, farmer and a resident of Barangay Bohong and Christian Lorence Puguom Doccog, farmer and a resident of Bahong and a native of Banaue, Ifugao.
The operating troops reportedly conducted a police response in the said area following receipt of a tip from concerned citizens on the presence of the suspects allegedly conducting pot session in one of the residences in the said place.
Confiscated from the arrested individuals were 3 heat sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 1 gram with a market value of P6,800; 3 used aluminium foil strips; 1 roll aluminium foil, improvised aluminium totter and 2 plastic lighters.
Vencio said that the arrested drug suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were immediately brought to the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station for documentation prior to the filing of the appropriate charges against them before the provincial prosecutor’s office.
The arrested individuals are now temporarily detained at the La Trinidad Municipal Jail awaiting the disposition of the provincial prosecutor’s office on the cases that have been filed against them.
Vencio expressed his gratitude to the concerned citizens who provided the local police force with the needed information that led to the arrest of the drug suspects and the confiscation of the illegal drugs and other drug paraphernalia from them.
