LAGANGILANG, Abra – A 47-year old jobless man who is an alleged drug pusher in the town died after he was shot to death by a still unidentified lone gunman at Laang, here, Wednesday afternoon.
Superintendent Mark Pespes, officer-in-charge of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the fatality as Nolie Beng-ad Hermoso, 47, male, married, unemployed, and a resident of Barangay, Laang, Lagangilang, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the victim parked his motorcycle in front of a store when a still unidentified gunman fired at him that prompted him to ran inside the establishment and exited at the back door.
However, witnesses claimed they again heard two gunshots that emanated from outside the establishment that caused the victim to be sprawled bloodied on the concrete pavement.
He was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple gunshot wounds on his head and body.
Responding police operatives and elements of the scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered from the crime scene three spent shells of a calibre .45 pistol which was reportedly used by the suspect in the perpetration of the crime.
The victim was said to be listed as a drug pusher and one of those in the watchlist of the Laganiglang Municipal Police Station and that the motive of the incident has yet to be established.
