ALFONSO LISTA, Ifugao – A 52-year old farmer died after he was hacked dead by a fellow farmer inside the latter’s house at San Jose, here, Saturday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Rudy Esclanda Martinez, 52, married, farmer, while the suspect was named as Jaime Martin Ortiz, 60, widow, farmer, both residents of San Jose, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao.
Initial police investigation showed the victim went to the suspect’s house to look for his wife but he was allegedly hacked on his ear and neck by the suspect that caused his instantaneous death.
The victim’s wife had an alleged illicit affair with the suspect and that he was also the complainant of the frustrated murder case against him prior to the said incident.
The suspect was arr3ested by responding police operatives and is now awaiting the filing of the appropriate charges against him before the provincial prosecutor’s office.
