LAMUT, Ifugao – A 48-year old farmer was injured after he was allegedly hacked by his own neighbour inside his residence at Pieza, here, Friday.
Police authorities identified the victim as Elmer Dacuzo Dela Cruz, 48 year old, married, farmer while the suspect was named as Renato Bunhi Buccahan, 32 year old, married, farmer and both residents of Barangay Pieza, Lamut, Ifuga.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and his friends decided to continue a drinking session in their residence after coming from a picnic when the suspect passed by and allegedly pointed a finger at him and started chasing him around but he was able to elude him.
However, the suspect was able to chance upon the victim inside their residence, went beside him and hacked him on his face that resulted to his sustaining laceration wounds on his face and left eye.
The victim was rushed to the Panudpudan district hospital for medical treatment while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives and is now temporarily detained at the Lamut Municipal Police Station for the filing of the case against him.
