RIZAL, Kalinga – A 30-year old man died while his companion was injured after their motorcycle rammed into a tree on the side of the highway at Sitio Alibangbang, Liwan West, here, Saturday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Jhonray Gaddaw Vizconde, 30 while his injured companion was named as Jonathan Bacayo Reyes, 19, both residents of Macutay, Rizal, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed that the duo was on board their motorcycle that was bound for Tabuk City when upon reaching a descending portion of the highway, the driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to bump into a tree planted on the side of the road that resulted to the occupants being thrown off their vehicle.
The motorcycle occupants were immediately rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment but Vizconde was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple head and body injuries while his companion is still undergoing close medical supervision.
