BANGUED, Abra December 03 – A 32-year old man and his 6-year old son were injured after they were fired upon by still unidentified gun-wielding motorcycle-riding assailants along the road at Bangbangar, here, late Saturday night.
Police authorities identified the injured individuals as Reckson Ayaba Latawan, 32, married and his son Learsi Parado Latawan, 6, both residing in sitio Consiliman, Zone 2, Bangued, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed that the father and son were on board a motorcycle and were travelling in the place of incident when they were fired upon by still unidentified gun-wielding motorcycle-riding assailants that caused them to fall from their vehicle while the suspects fled towards an undisclosed direction using their getaway motorcycle.
The victims were immediately rushed by concerned citizens in the area to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment where they are now undergoing observation for the injuries that they sustained on the different parts of their bodies.
The suspects are now the subject of a manhunt operation by responding elements of the Bangued Municipal Police Station who are also ascertaining the motive behind the shooting incident.\
Personnel of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team also recovered from the crime scene numerous spent shells of a calibre .45 pistol which was believed to have been used by the suspects in the perpetration of the crime.
