TABUK CITY, Kalinga – During this morning’s flag-raising ceremony, Mayor Darwin Estrañero admonished offices to submit their budget proposals on time, warning that offices who will fail to beat the deadline will get zero budget for 2024.
He issued a stern warning that offices have until Friday, August 11, to submit their respective budget proposals, instructing the budget office to set the cut-off at exactly 5:01 p.m.
“No budget proposal, no budget for 2024,” Mayor Estrañero said.
Mayor Estrañero stated that it is becoming a trend among offices to put off document preparation until the last possible minute, and that this mentality is unfit for civil officials who are expected to keep high standards of work ethics.
The city chief executive also reiterated his call for all offices to implement their Citizen’s Charter, which is a document that is supposed to make internal and external transactions faster and more efficient with the reduction of processing times and streamlining of procedures.
He reminded offices of the consequences of non-compliance under the Anti-Red Tape Act.
The mayor further emphasized that government employees are paid to render eight hours of work every day, during which they are expected to perform their duties diligently and with utmost professionalism. By Tabuk PIO
