City officials recently congratulated and commended Bernardo Talla Cadaon, Jr. for being awarded as Outstanding Public Officials and Employees Awardee during the 2023 Search for Outstanding Government Workers by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
In a resolution, local legislators stated that Cadaon’s achievement brought honor and pride to the city being a resident of Asin Road barangay.
He is a graduate of the course Bachelor of Science in Social Work at the Saint Louis University (SLU). Prior to his current position as Social Welfare Officer I under the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth of the Cordillera office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-CAR), he served as Project Specialist at the Consuelo Life Skills Center for Children from 2007-2015; Community Mobilizer at the Cordillera office of the Department of the Interior and Local Government from March to June 2015; and as Project Development Officer III of the Inter-Agency Secretariat under the Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children from August 2015 to May 2018.
The Search for Outstanding Government Workers is mandated under the 1987 Philippine Constitution, Executive Order No. 292 or the Administrative Code of 1987, Executive Order No. 501, series of 1992 as amended by Executive Order No. 77, series of 1993 and Republic Act (RA) 6713.
Further, the law mandated the CSC to act as the Honor Awards Program management team and shall conduct the annual Search for Outstanding Public Exemplars.
Earlier, the CSC announced and conferred the 2023 awardees last February 14, 2024 at the Malacañang Palace.
Among the winners of the coveted awards under the Dangal ng Bayan category is Cadaon, Social Welfare Officer I of the DSWD-CAR, who is a proud resident of the city.
Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to Cadaon and the DSWD-CAR for their information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See
