Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet – To synchronize efforts in the anti-insurgency campaign in the Cordilleras, PROCOR hosted a conference tackling the utilization of the PNP- Special Action Force (SAF) during Internal Security Operations, held at the PROCOR Log Cabin, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on June 22, 2021.
This was presided by the Deputy Regional Director for Operations, PCOL JOHN C CHUA, and attended by Operations Officers of the different PPOs, Force Commanders from the Regional and Provincial Mobile Forces and Company Commanders of the PNP SAF deployed in Cordillera.
Meanwhile, PLTCOL MELCHOR A BUAQEN Battalion Commander, 14th Special Action Battalion (SAB) discussed their personnel deployment amd capabilities, while PLTCOL FERDINAND OYDOC, Assistant Chief, ROD discussed the PNP MC 2021-008 particularly on the General Guidelines, Command and Control Relationship, and Coordinating Instructions during Internal Security Operations.
Also, issues and concerns regarding joint operations of SAF and PROCOR units within their AOR were raised as they brainstorm possible scenarios by citing previous operations.
To pre-empt conflict with fellow government troops, PCOL CHUA reiterated the importance of close coordination with other units and the AFP counterparts in Internal Security Operations and cited the vehicular roadside ambush at Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro as an example.
Hence, maintaining close intelligence coordination and exchanges is a must so as to lead to successful and safer operations. (PROCOR-PIO)
